Edward John Mostyn Bowlby was born in February on the 26th in the year of 1907. Bowlby was one of six children all raised in a middle class family in London. He was the fourth of his six siblings, all children were raised by the family nanny. Bowlby only spend an hour a day with his mother and this was at tea time. During the summer Bowlby and his siblings got to see their mother more often as she was more available. His father was Sir Antony Bowlby he was the surgeon to the Kings household. Bowlby in fact married at the age of 21 in 1938 to a woman called Ursula Longstaff, they had six children.
